New member spotlights of the USS Midway Museum event sales/operations team
Name: Pat Pfohl, Director of Event Sales
Organization: USS Midway Museum
Quick Bio: In 2004 she joined the USS Midway Museum as the only permanent Sales Director. Since then, she has reached many milestones and achievements. From 2004-2010, Pat was singularly responsible for branding, marketing, and building the museum’s special event business. Pat’s team has grown to include an Event Sales Manager and an Event Operations Manager to assist her daily sales activities.
What is your favorite part of being a new SITE member? Meeting and networking with industry professionals that are members. The unique events and educational component are a plus as well.
What are you hoping to gain from being a SITE member? As a result of my affiliation with SITE, I am hoping to increase my knowledge in the incentive travel market and to meet prospective clients that have never experienced an event on the Midway. Our events are truly something to experience first-hand.
Why did you decide to work in the incentive travel industry? I have personally attended incentive travel past events. It gave me some insight since I am on other side of the business. The USS Midway Museum is the perfect venue for incentive travel events.
Name: Debbie Lowery-Cunning, CMP, Event Sales Manager
Organization: USS Midway Museum
Quick Bio: Debbie Lowery-Cunning, CMP is currently the Event Sales Manager at the USS Midway Museum. She works alongside Pat Pfohl, Director of Event Sales. Debbie came aboard the Midway in October 2014 and has 17 years of experience leading public relations, special events, communications and business development functions.
What are you hoping to gain from being a SITE member? As a result of my affiliation with SITE, I am hoping to grow professionally and meet prospective clients that have never experienced an event on the Midway. Our events are truly something to experience first-hand.
What is your favorite part of being a new SITE member? The variety of industry professionals that are members. The fun and unique events are a plus as well.
Why did you decide to work in the incentive travel industry? As a sales professional, I have personally attended an incentive travel/”President’s Club” event. It was a great experience so I being on the other side of the business is an added bonus. I think the Midway is the perfect venue for such an event.
Name: Kira Holt, Event Manager
Organization: USS Midway Museum
Quick Bio: I graduated from the SDSU Hospitality program in 2013. Since graduating, I have been an Event Manager on the USS Midway museum planning corporate/social/public events for up to 4,000 guests. I enjoy eating out, a good glass of wine, hiking and vegging on the couch watching movies.
What are you hoping to gain from being a SITE member? Meeting new people in the industry and learning more about the sales side of events.
What is your favorite part of being a new SITE member? Being part of the young professionals group.
Why did you decide to work in the incentive travel industry? Because I am very passionate about the hospitality industry.
