In our continued efforts to give back to the local communities where we host our events, we are partnering with Operation Safehouse to provide much needed donations.

Please consider bringing two or more of the following items to help with our efforts:

• Twin bed sheets/comforters for youth ages 18-24
• Standard pillows
• Bath towels

Harrison House Transitional Living Program provides 20 older homeless youth between the ages of 18-24 with up to 18-months of services in a supervised apartment complex located in Thousand Palms, CA. While in our care, homeless youth are provided with a free apartment supplied with furnishing, kitchen ware, bathroom supplies, bedroom and bedding and all utilities paid. All youth agree to participate in case management, counseling, life skills, and volunteer activities. Our life skills classes provide youth with financial literacy, health and hygiene, employment assistance, education advancement, substance abuse education and anger management.

The program is designed to assist homeless youth overcome years of neglect and move them from the streets into living wage employment and independent living. Case Managers assist youth in daily living, provide transportation to and from work/school, assist with resume writing and job search and help youth acquire their vital documentation; such as a drivers license, birth certificate, social security income and medical and dental insurance.

Currently, SafeHouse has a 85% success rate for youth who completed the 90-day probation period graduating into permanent housing and living wage employment and we find most youth continue to remain housed, one year after graduation. The residences are able to take their sheets with them when they successfully leave the program.
